On Thursday 30 January, Unitas Youth Zone was named Community Charity of the Year at The Barnet Group Community Awards 2024!
This award is testament to the impact Unitas has across Barnet, providing a safe, inspiring space for over 3,000 young people every year. From sports to creative arts, mentoring to life skills, we offer young people the chance to try something new, discover a passion, and build confidence in a welcoming, supportive environment.
Unitas is more than just a youth club, we are a community hub. Through initiatives like our Warm Hubs, supporting older residents in partnership with Age UK and Cadent, and our Development and Learning Opportunities (DALO) sessions for adults with learning difficulties, we ensure that people of all ages have access to a safe space, social connection, and meaningful opportunities.
With youth services under growing pressure, the need for spaces like Unitas has never been greater. This award highlights the vital role youth work plays in strengthening communities and shaping brighter futures.
